From Our Board Chairman: An Update on Our Beloved Sally Fesperman

On behalf of the Board of Directors of The Inn of Last Resort (formerly the Christian Training Center International), I’m writing to let you know that our beloved founder, Sally Fesperman, has been moved by her family to Morningstar Assisted Living, a healthcare facility in Sylva, NC. As you may be aware, the ministry bought Sally’s home next to the Inn in July of 2021 through the generosity of many of you. At that time, it was our sincere hope and desire for Sally to live in the home that she and Jay built for the balance of her days.

Last spring, I spoke with Sally’s daughter, Tracy Collins, who indicated at the time that it was becoming more and more difficult, and costly, to provide Sally with the kind of care she needed to remain at home. They had a team of workers being paid by the hour to sit with Sally most days and evenings. Sally has difficulty seeing, and it is hard for her to walk on her own without help from others, especially outside of her home. They had been looking for an option in Franklin but knew that by the end of August, a decision would need to be made. These are hard choices that many of us have or will have to make for our own family members.

We don’t know if this will be a permanent solution for Sally, but we do know she needs your love and prayers now more than ever. I believe Sally will continue to make an impact on those around her through prayer and the mantle of ministry that she carries with her. Sally always said that she prayed that the lives of everyone who drove up the driveway at The Inn would be changed. Please join me in praying that same prayer now for a different driveway.

If you’d like to keep in touch with Sally, she is at Morningstar Assisted Living, Room 205, 95 Morningstar Ln., Sylva, NC, 28779.

Sincerely,
Tim Bryant
Board Chairman
