Creativity on Mission
Come explore your creativity on mission with the Lord through a 5-day exploratory with other curious artists. You will spend time in God’s presence through prayer, Bible study and discussion in a beautiful, inspiring location nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains. Through small instructional class sessions and medium-specific workshops, you will have the opportunity to create a piece for presentation by the end of the week.
The Heavens Declare & So Do We
Elohim is the Hebrew word for God that we see in the very first sentence of Genesis. Elohim—Mighty Creator—the One who began it all! Our awesome God created the heavens and the earth, separated light from darkness, water from dry land, and night from day. He lovingly designed fish that light up the depths of the ocean, and systems that harmoniously enable us to do all that we do. And He intentionally created mankind in His image.
One aspect of bearing the image of God is to bring creativity through our imagination combined with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. He alone is our highest inspiration and guide for expressing beauty through art. Psalm 19:1 tells us, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of His hands.” God’s creative design shouts to the human heart the truths of God’s character and nature. His lovingkindness is seen in all that He has made. We can also use our God-inspired creativity to bring glory—not to ourselves—but to the great and loving God who gives us these gifts.
